The Color mapping, Base components, and Feature components tabs allow designers to apply the colors defined in the Palettes tab.

Each tab serves a distinct purpose:

  • In the Color mapping tab, users can style broad categories, such as "body background color" or "brand color". These categories apply broadly across the portal.
  • In the Base components tab, users can style specific HTML elements, such as buttons, or text fields.
  • In the Feature components tab, users can style specific Design menu components.

It is currently only possible to style the Chatbot component using the Feature components tab.

The left search, titled 'markdown,' includes filters for 'In: Titles only,' 'Results type: Documents only,' and 'Language: en-US,' with a sort by relevance, created on February 3, 2026. The right search, 'Release notes alert,' uses filters like 'Category: Release Notes,' 'Version_FT: Latest,' 'ft:document_type: map,' and 'Language: en-US,' also sorted by relevance, created on February 10, 2026. Options to edit or delete each search are available. Tabs for bookmarks, personal books, saved searches, and collections are at the top.
In this example, the Brand color in the Color mapping tab of the Theme studio is set to purple.

To apply themes:

  1. Open the Color mapping, Base components, or Feature components tab.
  2. Open the dropdown menus, and select a color from the Palettes tab.

Use the Theme dropdown menu to preview a different theme.

  3. Select Apply.

The colors apply automatically to the customized categories in most components of designed pages. For some components, it may be necessary to apply colors manually.

  • Values defined in the Base components or Feature components tabs take precedence over the values defined in the Color mapping tab.
  • The border radius, padding, and size fields in the Base components and Feature components tabs take values in pixels, percentages, or ems. For example, 10px.
