After preparing the file to upload in the Vocabularies administration interface, the next step is to add a vocabulary.

It is necessary to upload at least one document in the Knowledge Hub before configuring a vocabulary.

Selecting the New vocabulary button in the Vocabularies administration interface displays the following window:

A screenshot of the 'Create a new vocabulary' interface. The form contains a field for 'ID'. There is also an option to 'Drop a vocabulary file or click to browse' with an upload icon indicating file attachment. Below is a toggle switch, currently disabled, for 'Make the search engine use this vocabulary when indexing content.' At the bottom, there are 'Cancel' and 'Save' buttons, with the 'Save' button grayed out.

Where:

  1. A field to define an ID for the vocabulary (mandatory).
  2. An area to browse files available locally (mandatory).
  3. A toggle to make the search engine use the vocabulary when indexing content.

After configuring the fields, uploading a file, and selecting the Save button, reprocess the content to apply the vocabulary to the portal's content.

  • Reprocessing blocks publishing. The larger the corpus of a portal, the longer it takes to reprocess. To avoid disrupting users, select the Schedule a reprocess button in the Publishing menu to schedule a reprocess to run at night so publishing remains possible during work hours.
  • It is also possible to drag-and-drop a .csv or .rdf file in the Vocabularies menu to add a vocabulary. Fluid Topics automatically suggests the appropriate settings for the vocabulary file.
  • It is also possible to add a vocabulary using the Create a vocabulary web service.

Reprocessing can take a considerable amount of time if the portal has a lot of content. Fluid Topics creates a queue with the content users upload while a reprocess job is underway, and processes it after the reprocess job is complete.
