In the Analytics menu, selecting the Sources page opens an interface with information about the traffic's source type over a selected period.
There are currently four source types:
- Direct: refers to traffic coming from an unknown source, or from an untrackable referral source. It mostly represents visitors who typed the URL directly into their browser or clicked on a browser bookmark.
- Organic: refers to traffic coming from an organic search (unpaid search result) via a search engine such as Google, Bing, Yahoo, etc.
- Social: refers to traffic coming from a social network platform such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.
- Referral: refers to traffic coming from search engine advertising (paid search ads), or from a website that is not organic or social.
The Sources diagrams do not take traffic to and from the Administration and Analytics menus into account.
