Content administrators can manage DITA content using a control file.

A Fluid Topics control file is an independent file processed either alone or along with content to perform specific actions (updating document and topic metadata, adding attachments, etc.). It is possible to upload a control file synchronously or asynchronously.

An inheritance principle applies to attributes in control files.

  • The metadata assigned to a DITA file applies to the content of the file, but not to the file itself.
  • Examples of using a control file to manage content are available in the Fluid Topics Control File technical note.
